Tracheostomy Safety

The project comprises three sessions and explains the knowledge and skills required to safely manage patients with a tracheostomy or laryngectomy. Learners are taken through the basic anatomical and physiological changes involved whilst explaining the procedures and different types of tracheostomy tubes and devices used in neck breathing patients. Management of emergencies from the first responder through to advanced interventions are described using videos and diagrams. Routine management and troubleshooting tracheostomy problems are covered in detail.
