Safeguarding Children Level 1-2

The course covers the knowledge and competences needed by health and social care professionals to safeguard the welfare of children. Themes include disclosure of abuse, unexplained injuries, disability and neglect, roles and responsibilities, child safeguarding procedures and multi-agency working.

Level 1: overview of child protection, legal requirements and implications, roles and responsibilities, responding to safeguarding concerns, multi-agency working, effective communication, defensive documentation. Level 2: for clinical staff with regular contact with children or adults who may pose a risk to children.
