Face-to-face discussions are incredibly powerful for training, and tabletop games are great resources to stimulate conversation within groups of staff. However, with more staff working from home and social distancing being applied in offices, face-to-face training is no longer an option for many of us.
Since 2004 we have developed over 60 educational board games for face-to-face learning. Lockdown encouraged us to find ways of recreating the benefits of our board-games during online meetings.
Our solution is ZeST, a unique game-based tool that replicates all the benefits of our face-to-face games for online meeting platforms like Zoom, Teams or Skype. We wanted it to be very easy to use and so ZeST works though a simple website that can be managed by anyone without any external help.
ZeST games encourage and facilitate the same intense group discussions as the original board games. With ZeST, organisations can train up to 20 members of staff at the same time, remotely. Staff can run games as stand-alone learning sessions or integrate them into regular group meetings.
We have converted many of our evidence-based educational board games, so they work online. ZeST games cover a wide range of topics from safeguarding to sleep and nutrition to leadership. Organisations are sure to find a training resource that will meet their needs in ZeST.
