Playing The Care Certificate Game promotes teamwork and collaboration, and is an easy way of managing group work, an essential part of the Care Certificate. This game has been officially endorsed by Health Education England.
Players work in teams to move around the board answering questions based on 8 of the key standards of the Care Certificate. They have a chance to discuss their answer and a correct answer wins a token to place on the corresponding section of the board.
Working as a group allows players to learn from each other and discover where their strengths and weaknesses lie with regards to the key learning objectives. A simple look at the board shows which topics teams struggled with. This can suggest where further training may be focussed. The Care Certificate Game is a fun and interactive learning tool to initiate valuable discussion around the key components of the Care Certificate.
Questions cover the following topics:
- Communication
- Duty of Care
- Equality & Diversity
- Fluids & Nutrition
- Infection Prevention & Control
- Mental Health, Dementia & Learning Disabilities
