In health and social care, a 10% increase in “real” team membership is associated with a drop-in mortality of around 6%. This makes it vital that staff teams work together as effectively as possible. Teams That Care brings staff together to talk about what makes a successful team, and the improvements they can make to become more effective.
As health & social care integration brings different services to work more closely together, new working teams are evolving and must learn to work together effectively. Teams that Care will help these teams think about how to coordinate their approach, working together to provide effective person-centred care. Bringing an element of fun to the team development process, it helps players address important issues in a non-threatening way. Players will explore key areas important to being a successful team and is supported by further team development resources available on the game website.
Topics explored include:
- Characteristics of successful teams
- Having a shared purpose
- Communication
- Innovation
- Managing change
