Pain Management

This programme-level learning explores how pain affects patients physically, psychologically and socially, and what clinicians must consider at each stage of assessment and treatment. It guides you through the principles of safe pain evaluation, the management of acute, chronic and cancer pain, and the complexities of pain in special populations, including children and older adults. The course also incorporates highly interactive sessions - including animations, real-world case studies and self-assessment exercises - designed to enhance clinical reasoning and help you respond confidently to a wide range of pain presentations. Subject areas covered: You will explore acute pain, long-term pain conditions, musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, cancer pain, the basic science of pain, and the psychological and social dimensions that influence treatment decisions. More than sixty sessions are grouped into over ten structured modules, supported by an e-library of external resources for deeper study. Whats included: Youll work through a comprehensive set of online sessions, each designed to take around 30 minutes and supported by multimedia learning tools that bring clinical scenarios to life.
