Anyone who works with the public in health, education, policing or other public services are well placed to recognise and respond to domestic abuse concerns. This educational board game uses question cards to help players build their knowledge of Intimate Partner Violence, and persona activities to help them think about how to put their knowledge into practice and respond to a domestic abuse concern in their daily work.
Two teams of players compete to bring their playing pieces to the Safety Zone, by providing correct answers to questions and successfully exploring scenarios involving fictional individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
Players will learn about:
- Types of abuse between partners
- Signs of domestic abuse
- Impact on health and wellbeing
- Why people stay in abusive relationships
- Role of professionals
- How to ask appropriate questions and offer support
- Recording and sharing information
- Signposting people to appropriate support
