The game’s learning content is derived from the leadership model (Stansfield, 2017) developed from empirical research undertaken as part of a Doctorate in Business Administration. The iHV has endorsed this leadership model.
Purpose of the game:
The game encourages players to discuss the answers to questions, allowing them to acquire new knowledge, share experiences and learn from each other. The underpinning theoretical knowledge that supports the game enables all health and social care practitioners to understand and participate in collective leadership.
The Leadership Game works best with 4-12 players divided into 2 teams. Games usually last between 45-60 minutes, but you can make it shorter or longer depending on the time you have available.
The game does not require a facilitator with an expert knowledge of leadership principles, and a facilitator’s role can be very “hands off”. Games can be run as informal activities in the workplace, or as part of more structured training and workshops.
Audience
Suitable for all health and social care staff professionals and students that wish to learn about collective leadership.

This game will help anyone interacting, working or volunteering with older people to understand how to help the older generation remain “food secure” by understanding the difficulties they face, from mobility and health issues, to lack of rest areas in shops and poor transport links. It helps players to consider the things we can do to help older people continue to live independently and access the food they want to eat.
